B-Tree Deletion

B-tree deletion removes a key from the tree while preserving its balanced structure. The process ensures that all nodes (except the root) maintain the required minimum number of keys.
Merging, borrowing, and rebalancing during B-tree key deletion:
  • Locate and remove the key from a leaf or internal node.
  • If the key is in an internal node, replace it with its in-order predecessor or successor.
  • If a node has fewer keys than required after deletion, borrow a key from a sibling or merge nodes.
  • Rebalance the tree by adjusting parent keys as needed.
  • Continue this process up the tree to maintain B-tree properties.
